Apple Crumble Recipe
1/2 c Caster Sugar
1 tbsp Cinnamon, ground
100g Butter, cold & finely diced
Zest and Juice of 1 Lemon
1/2 c Brown Sugar
1 c Flour
6 Apples, peeled, cored, sliced
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 190°C.
Put the apple slices, lemon zest, juice and 1/4 cup of water into a saucepan.
Bring to the boil. Cover and boil gently for 5 minutes.
Uncover and boil gently a further 5 minutes until the apples are tender. Remove from the heat and pour the cooked apples into a deep oven proof dish.
Put the butter, flour, sugar and cinnamon into a food processor and process until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, or rub the butter into the dry ingredients with your fingertips.
Spread the butter mixture evenly on top of the apples.
Place in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until well browned and crisp.
Remove from the oven and serve with whipped cream.
